This morning I had to work so I got up and packed a suitcase for the kids to go to moms since Scott worked all night. I also laid out clothes for them.
When Scott woke up he asked me where Brooke's clothes were. I said I laid them on the stairs but apparently they had been moved (Brooke woke up before Scott). He went searching and decided maybe she put them in the suitcase. Scott opened the suitcase and there were her clothes along w/ Beauty (new cat).
Yep, apparently Brooke planned on taking Beauty w/ her to moms.
I guess when we go to Disney World we will have to double check that Beauty is in the house and not a suitcase before we leave.

stories
Brooke is into telling stories, real stories not lies (ok, lies too).
Tonight she was telling Scott stories and in every one of them someone died.
So it was Scott's turn. He told a story about a medium girl who went to gymnastics (they were on their way to gymnastics) and did everything her teacher told her to.
But that wasn't good enough for Brooke. She told Scott that he forgot the part about the medium girl and the baby not listening and getting sent upstairs. At the end a dragon comes in and "dies them."
Nice huh?

no kidding
Yesterday I was telling Brooke to pick something up off the floor. She shook her head no at me and took off up the stairs. Scott went after her. He brought her back down and said to her, "When your mommy tells you to do something you have to listen."
Brooke's response- "I never do what I am suppose to."
Yea, no kidding.

prayer
Brooke's prayer last night:
Dear God, I love you so much. I wish I could come and stay w/ you so much. But I can't because I live at my house. Amen.

Cat Scratch Fever (or this could be called 'Cajones'
Fact: We have a new cat. Fact: Cats scratch.
We have not had the kitten declawed yet. So if she gets stressed or scared or even is just playing her claws come out. They are small but can definitely still hurt.
Hunter knows this so he, being him, barely picks Beauty up. He will pet her but he is quick to get away if he thinks her claws may be out.
So what about Brooke? She has cajones (is that even spelled right?). She carries that poor little cat around like its a doll. Sometimes its even upside down. She will even pick it up by its neck and grab its tail.
Max and Beauty are still trying to get use to each other. If Max gets too close Beauty will arch her back and hiss and if you are holding her you usually get scratched. Brooke will carry Beauty right up to Max's face to see what they will do.
Today Brooke had been playing w/ Beauty and it was time for a shower. She wasn't wearing a shirt and when I got close to her I saw that she was covered in scratches. No kidding, both arms and hands were covered. She had scratches on her chest and back and even her face. She didn't complain about it once. She hasn't stopped anything either. That girl is tough.

girls
Last night I was watching the Friends episode where Rachel said she got drunk in college and made out w/ her friend (Winona Ryder).
When it came to the part where she kissed her outside the restaurant we heard Hunter say "eeww.. gross." Scott kinda laughed and I said what did you say. Hunter answered "2 girls kissing, that's gross."
In 20 years when he likes the idea of 2 girls kissing (because all men do) I am going to remind him of this.

christmas program
There is no way I will be able to do this justice but I am going to try.
Yesterday was our church's kids Christmas program. My kids are something else.
Brooke's group went first. She paid some attention in the beginning then she started picking something up off the bleachers (turned out to be glitter of some sort). What was funniest is she wasn't really singing until she saw me. Then, man oh man, she straightened up and started singing and doing the motions. I'm not sure if she new she needed to do what she was suppose to or she just needed affirmation that she was getting attention and that made her want to perform.
Hunter was, well...Hunter. He started out singing and doing the motions but it just went down hill from there. He started dancing then at one point he just stopped doing anything and was in his own little world. Then next thing we knew he was picking at the air. Apparently there were dust mites in the air. They had a smoke machine and went it started it must have smelled really bad. He was making faces and waving his hand in front of his nose. He even put his hands up and then would just let his hand fall forward.
Ok, I just can't do it justice. I soooo wish we had video. We were laughing so hard we were crying. Just trust me.

Not today
Well, yesterday i was thinking I hadn't blogged in a while and I needed something to blog about. I thought about how much I love kindergartners. Its one of my favorite ages. So I thought maybe I'd write about that.
Yea, NOT TODAY!
I woke Hunter up like every other morning. I got him breakfast and we went down to the basement. It all went down hill from there. When I told him to brush his teeth he wanted carried (A whopping 30ft), then he wanted to sit down while he brushed his teeth and I wouldn't let him. I'm not really sure what happened between then and going upstairs (I must have blocked it out) but by the time we made it upstairs he was crying and laying on the floor. I finally got his shoes on and everyone out the door but he was mad I wouldn't carry him.
He got upset in the van because I wouldn't put his umbrella in his backpack for him. He kept kicking my seat over and over. When I would turn around and say something to him he would plug his ears (where did he learn that). If it wasn't so cold I would have pulled over and spanked him but no punishment is worth getting out in this weather. Hunter even called me a mean mommy at one point. That doesn't work on me though cuz I see it as a compliment. He calmed down by school since I told him he wasn't going to his gymnastics Christmas party unless he earned it back.
In his defense he hasn't been sleeping well so he's tired and he doesn't feel very good. However, it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth about writing about how much this is my favorite age.
I did good though. No yelling, I talked forcefully but didn't raise my voice. Mostly because I was fighting laughing.
Oh, I forgot the funniest part. When he wouldn't walk to the garage because he wanted carried. Broooke said "Mommy, I'm strong. I will carry my brother." She tried too but he would have nothing to do w/ it. She probably could have.

my children
#1- Hunter is going around saying he got bit by bed bugs- twice! Ok, I am not the best cleaner but he doesn't have bed bugs.
#2- Brooke was throwing a fit at bedtime because she wanted Beauty (new cat) to sleep in her bed. My rule has been that I will put the cat in the kids beds after they fall asleep (otherwise they won't go to sleep). She cried enough that I let her have Beauty. Honestly, I didn't think Beauty would stay in her bed because Brooke holds on to her pretty tight.
Here's the kicker. About 10min later, Brooke came downstairs saying she wanted Beauty out of her room because Beauty was keeping her awake. She is something else.

cat
I am allergic to cats. I have gotten use to my cat so I kinda forgot. This new kitten has got my allergies goin all over again.
The other day I was talking about it and jokingly told Brooke we might have to get rid of the kitten cuz of my allergies. I then added "Or I might have move out." Well, can you guess the end of this story?
Yep, Brooke now asks me about once a day when I am moving out. Shes not upset about it either. This morning Brooke asked if we could keep Beauty forever. I said sure, we can keep her forever. Then she said "So then when are you moving out?"
Yep, I feel loved.

coughing
My kids have been coughing ALOT lately. Hunter's is allergies and Brookes, I do believe, is fake.
The other day they were w/ Mom and Rick and were going to eat at Cracker Barrel (my children's favorite place). Mom told them that if they want to go eat they haveto stop coughing.
They made it through their meal w/o coughing at all. As soon as they got out to the car Brooke said to them- "Is it ok for us to start coughing now?"

potty talk
So my kids potty talk. Fart, pee, poop.. they are all everyday words in our house.
However, it is getting out of hand. Brooke and Hunter are obsessed w/ poop. Lately they have been pretending to poop on each other. Then today Hunter brought home a picture of a dinosaur brushing his teeth. Hunter had drawn the dinosaur pooping. Yep, he drew a large brown mess coming from his bottom. Hunter thought it was so funny that the dinosaur was brushing his teeth and pooping at the same time.
Every time the kids fart they point it out also. Doesn't matter if anyone else even knows they did it.
They even have burping contests.
Yep.. we are high class people. I probably shouldn't have shared this w/ other people.

Me too
Brooke's new thing is when someone tells her they love her she says "Me too." Not sure where she got that. I answer Scott that way occasionally but usually when we are alone.
One time I said I love you and she answered "me too" and so I said "You love you too?" She laughed and said "no, I love you."
I actually kinda hope she keeps it up. Its cute.

my brother
We were all in the van the other day. Hunter was trying to tell Brooke something but of course she was ignoring him. He kept saying "Brooke" over and over again.
Finally, Scott said "Brooke. answer your brother."
Hunter again said "Brooke"
Brookes reply was "yes my brother."

buying a brother
Yesterday I was upstairs folding clothes and Hunter and Brooke were downstairs. I heard them start fighting then I heard Brooke coming upstairs going off on Hunter.
She marched into my bedroom and said "I don't want to buy anymore brothers!"
Apparantly she thinks we buy babies like dolls.

body
So, Hunter and Brooke's new fun thing to do outside is trace people's bodies on the ground w/ chalk. Yesterday Brooke was tracing Nick and Scott.
Let me back track some... Hunter and Brooke were having trouble tracing our heads to look like heads so after they would trace us or each other they would say "You don't have a head" or "You have a little head." Then they would free hand it in.
So yesterday Brooke traced Scott and then Nick. After each of them she said "You don't have a body." Then she would draw a loop in their groin area. Yep, apparantly she was adding private parts to the boys. She knows body part names, not sure why she didn't use the acutal name but probably better.
So now there are chalk bodies in my driveway drawn anatomically correct.

Bee
Today Hunter and Brooke were out back playing while Scott, Nick and I were inside. All the sudden Brooke came running in the house screaming at the top of her lungs and covering her mouth.
At first it sounded like she was saying "Someone peed on me, someone peed on me!"
I was trying to get her to calm down and realized she was saying "There's a bee on me!" She kept screaming "There's a bee on me!!!" and had her mouth covered.
I finally got her calm and pulled her hand from her face.
There was a ladybug in the corner of her mouth. I told her and she burst out laughing. She was rolling, saying "Oh I thought I had a bee on me!"

Bambi
Hunting season is getting close, in case you didn't know. Which is a big deal at our house. So at dinner tonight we were discussing it and Scott and Nick were trying to get Hunter excited about going hunting (don't worry, he doesn't get to this year).
I really thought Hunter would be my hold out, I thought maybe killing animals would bother him. Trust me, I know the benefits of hunting but I really thought Hunter would not enjoy it. I knew Brooke was a lost hope, she'd go kill Bambi now if I let her.
Speaking of Bambi, I said to Hunter, "You really want to go hunt deer, you want to kill Bambi?" Hunter just laughed and said "Mom, Bambi's not real, Bambi is just pretend."
Scott and Nick thought that was just hilarious.
Lovely.

inside joke
Brooke's new thing is to whistle when she needs me. This is only funny to the few people that were at Hunter's soccer game today, where she showed off her whistling talent. Its actually rather annoying.
truly could beat her
This is a conversation that happened in my van the other day...
Me: Brooke, put your hands in your lap.
Brooke: you put your hands in your lap
Me: Brooklyn Marie
Brooke: Brookyln Marie
Scott: Brooke, don't back talk to your mom that way
Brooke: You don't back talk to Mommy
That is a synopsis of the conversation, maybe not word for word but you get the idea. It ended w/ Scott climbing over the seats (I was driving) and Brooke crying.

could you not breathe
I've been holding on to this story for a while. Mostly because its embarrassing for me.
A few weeks ago I was laying in bed w/ Hunter and we were just talking. Hunter said to me "you have bad breath." I apologized and turned to lay on my back and we kept talking.
A couple minutes later he said "mommy, could you just not breathe?"
I kissed him on the forehead and got out of his bed.

3 going on 13
So Brooke was getting in trouble tonight because she wasn't doing what she was told (no big surprise). I started counting (which why I bother counting I don't know because I ALWAYS get to 3) and made it to 3. I started walking towards her so she turned around and started stomping off, then all a sudden she stopped, turned around and said "Are you serious?" Then, turned around and did what she was suppose to.
Scott walked up at that moment and we both just started laughing.
WE ARE IN SOOOOOO MUCH TROUBLE!!!!

hunter stories
I have 2 stories tonight.
So Hunter and Brooke have watched a couple movies the last 2 days. I noticed that when there were scary parts Hunter would explain them to Brooke. Like, they watched Snow White and after Snow White ate the apple, Hunter kept telling Brooke "shes not dead Brooke so don't worry." Then tonight they watched Yellow Dog (thats not the actual title but thats what they call it and i don't even know the actual title) and it gets intense in a few scenes. Hunter would say "don't worry Brooke, they save yellow dog, it'll be ok." It was really sweet.
Then tonight, after Nicks soccer game we stopped at a gas station and in one of the parking spots a dog was laying in the middle of it. Right in the middle of it, people didn't park there and it didn't move. It was cold and rainy and I felt really bad for it (yes, me, I felt bad for a dog). Hunter and Scott were in the bathroom forever (Hunter had to poop, of course) so Brooke and I talked to the dog and fed it hot dogs. I was actually thinking about taking it home (yea, I was drunk or something) until it stood up and I saw that it was pregnant. Anyways, the point of my story. When we got back in the van, Hunter kept saying over and over (and over) "mom, the dog doesnt have a collar." Apparantly if it doesn't have a collar, we are suppose to take it home. Poor dog, I really was sad to leave it but we couldn't bring a pregnant dog home. Plus, the guy working at the gas station, said the dog had been there for a few hours and everyone had been feeding her. Lets face it, the dog was probably happy.

middle of the night
So Brooke earned a special night of sleeping in bed w/ me. I laid down w/ her until she fell asleep then I got up to get some things done. When I went to get in bed she had peed out her diaper and all over my sheets. I picked her up, laid her on the floor and stripped the bed. She of course woke up so when I got the bed remade and we got laid back down we talked for a few minutes. I had the tv on but told her to go back to sleep. She was quiet for a few minutes then I heard her singing "If you want to be me, be me. If you want to be you, be you." From some commercial. It was cute. Maybe this is one of those stories you had to be there to appreciate.

energy
I have Dancing w/ The Stars on and the MC made a comment about the dancers having alot of energy. Hunter said "Mom, they have a lot of energy." I said "they do?" He said "I wonder where they get all that energy, I bet they saved it up."
dinner
My kids both talk constantly. I know, they get it from Scott (he,he) so we deserve it but they talk all the time.
At dinner tonight the kids were talking about nothing and we needed them to eat because Hunter had soccer practice.
Scott told them no more talking, while Brooke was mid sentence. She became silent immediately however, her mouth kept moving, right w/ whatever she was saying. It was laugh out loud funny. She got quiet like she was suppose to yet finished what she had to say.

new car
Brooke told me tonight she wants a car. A real one. She said she wants to put the keys in, turn them and drive away. I have that dream sometimes too. That I drive away, not her.... ok, sometimes her (not really, relax).

shower
So the other day Brooke was in the shower. I bathed her and told her to rinse herself off, then walked off to do something. I cam back and found her in the crab walk position (you remember doing that in gym class). She had her privates pushed up under the water. I asked her what she was doing and she said rinsing herself off (of course!) I said to her "you can just stand up and rinse everything off." She said "I know, but I like this."
Lovely!

I fooled you!
This story is compliments of my babysitter (Thanks Nikki!) So I'll do the best I can at retelling the story.
So I guess Brooke was at Nikki's the other day and she did or said something that made Nikki think she had peed in her underwear. Nikki asked her and she said she peed and pooped in them. Apparently Brooke even started tearing up, real tears. Nikki took her hand and started the appropriate lecture on how Brooke has been doing so good at going in the potty and shes a big girl and big girls go in the potty. Brooke was walking the way she does when she goes in her pants and had her head down like she knew she shouldn't have done it. Nikki got her upstairs, took her pants off... They were clean and dry. Nikki said to Brooke "You didn't go in your pants."
Apparently Brooke smiled at her and said "I fooled you."
yep, that's my daughter.

Oh, the words they use
We have been on Brooke lately cuz she lies. So we are constantly telling her to tell the truth.
Today, she was playing w/ her dolls and talking to them. Hunter asked her what she was telling her dolls. Her answer was "I'm telling them the truth." Then she looked at me and said "I am, I'm telling them the truth." She would even tell her doll she was telling it the truth. Maybe she is catching on...
Its also funny what our kids pick up on that we say.
Brooke kept telling her doll to "stop jacking around." I say that alot.
The other day in the van Hunter was saying words that started w/ different letters. When he came to D he said a few then he said "mom, dang it starts w/ D." Guess I say that alot too.
Its also funny what our kids pick up on that we say.

rocks out the window
So Hunter collects rocks. Not necassarily good rocks, whatever he can find, sometimes gravel even.
Tonight we were at Nick's soccer game and Hunter was getting rocks. When it was time to leave we let him put a few in his pockets to take home. I can't remember what he was doing on the way home but he wasn't minding. Scott told him that if he didn't mind he was gonna throw his rocks out the window.
Hunter sat there for a second then said "dad, if you throw them out the window, you might hit a car. Then what are you gonna do?"

shoes
Tonight I had told Brooke to take her flip flops upstairs and get her pjs. (Keep in mind, these are her favorite flip flops, she wears them everyday.) She was taking her sweet time in getting upstairs so Scott told her if she didn't get up there he was gonna throw her shoes in the trash. Remember, we can't threaten things w/ Brooke that we aren't willing to follow through w/.
So when she still didn't get upstairs Scott took her shoes and said he was going to throw them in the trash.
Brooke yelled after him "Its ok. I don't want those shoes anymore, they are too small anyways."

sleepy head
Yesterday I took Hunter to gymnastics then Brooke and I ran to Target to grab one thing real quick. Brooke fell asleep on the way there, so when I got there I got her out of her car seat assuming she would wake up. She didn't. Keep in mind, she is 37 pounds and long. I carried her into Target, got what I needed, got in line, got my purse off the arm she was on and paid, all the while she was asleep. I ended up just having the lady put my change in the bag.
Now I know what your thinking, she was probably faking. She wasn't. She snored some while we were in Target. Then when we got out of the van, I sat her in her seat and she (of course) woke up then. She looked a little confused while I was buckling her in. She asked what I was doing. I told her belting her so we could go get Hunter. With a very confused face she looked at me and said "Then why did you unbuckle me?" She had no memory of being in Target at all.

naked girl
I let Hunter and Brooke go sit on the front porch to eat popsicles this evening. Brooke came back in after a little while and she was saying "I'm having trouble,I'm having trouble" AND carrying her panties in her hand (she had been wearing just panites and a shirt). I asked her why she wasn't wearing her panties. She said "oh, I just had to pee so I peed in the grass." I was like "what?" Brooke then said "Hunter said I could." Well, geez, if Hunter siad it was ok.
Oh, and Kylie was here. That was great.

good lord
So I thought bedtime went great last night. Actually bedtime did go well. I put both kids in bed and came downstairs. I never heard another word from either child. A little after 10pm I went up to bed. I checked on Brooke first, she was out in her bed. Next I went to Hunter's room. He was not in his bed, which really wasn't a huge surprise. Problem was, I couldn't figure out where he had gone. Then... I heard noise coming from his closet. I went to his closet and he was sitting in there playing w/ his knex. Just sittin there, building a boat. I didn't handle it very well. I asked him what in the world he was doing. Then I just walked out of his room, into my room and shut my door. I couldn't even talk to him.
Heres the thing. He had started the boat earlier in the day and I know he was probably laying in bed and couldn't stand that it wasn't done. Do you know how i know this???? HE IS JUST LIKE ME!!!! Just OCD enough to become obsessed w/ things. I often stay up way later than I should because I start something and I just can't put it down. (Scott is nodding and laughing right now, or he's crying, who knows)

Bed time....again
Ok. So bedtimes are bad. That's nothing new. Last night I was a little excited. I really didn't hear much from them after I put them to bed.
However when I went up to bed I found out why. First I went into Brooke's room and she was curled up on the floor. I'm pretty sure she didn't fall out of bed, apparently it just sounded like a good place to sleep.
Then, I found Hunter on the floor in the hallway. He had brought out a blanket to lay on and one to cover up w/. Then he had lined all his stuffed animals around him. And to top it off he brought his CD player out and had it right at his head.
Good lord.

eye for an eye doesn't really work
So Brooke and Hunter were wrestling. Brooke pulled Hunter's hair then ran off to the bathroom. Hunter, of course cried. When Brooke came out Scott called her over and told her its not nice to pull people's hair. He said "Does it hurt when someone pulls your hair?" Brooke said "I don't know."
So Scott pulled her hair. Brooke said "that didn't hurt."
So Scott pulled it a little harder. Again she said "That doesn't hurt."
Scott pulled even harder. This time she laughed and said "That still didn't hurt."
Needless to say, that point was never proven.

again, where does she get it
This morning I was fixing her hair for school. She asked me what was taking so long. I told her that beauty takes time. She gasped and said "mommy, don't say a bad word." I'm really not sure which word was bad.
It was time to go get Hunter from school. I asked Brooke if she wanted to take the stroller or wagon. She said immediatly "I want to take the stroller, that way Hunter has to walk. Nah, nah, nah, nah." Sad thing is, I went w/ it and we took the stroller.

easy sale
So I've mentioned before that Hunter is an easy sale. If he sees and advertisment on tv he can often repeat the whole commercial. The other day Hunter, Brooke and I were wrapping a birthday present for their friend. As we were cutting it Hunter said "mom, they sell something that you canuse to cut the paper and it cuts straight lines." Then when we were taping he said "mom, they sell tape that you put on the back of your hand then its just right there to grab when you need it"

Packed and ready to go
So we have been talking about going to Disney World for vacation next summer (although that is out the window now) and the kids have been included in the conversations. Well last night we were discussing it alot and Brooke started running w/ it. She was ready to go. I told her to go pack (I know it was kinda mean). She came downstairs w/ her suitcase. It was packed w/ all her Disney Princess dresses. Then this morning when she got up she asked if we could go to Disney World today. Poor thing, shes gonna be so disappointed.

where does she get these things
We were at target tonight. When we were in line paying, I had grabbed a bottle of water to drink. Brooke was drinking it and Hunter asked for a drink. Brooke gave Hunter the bottle and said "I'm a good sister."
I was putting the kids to bed and of course Hunter was doing his normal slow pace crap. I yelled at him cuz I had had it. Brooke said "mom, how come your acting mean to Hunter?" I said "Cuz hes not minding." Brooke said "Your not acting mean to me cuz I'm being good." Yea, thats a surprise.

waking daddy up
So our plan this morning was for me to get up w/ the kids then take Hunter to school and head to work. Scott went back to work tonight so he was gonna try and sleep in a bit and I was suppose to wake him right before Hunter and I left. Well Scott hasn't been sleeping great and its hard to work all night after getting up at a normal time. So, I decided to put a show on for Brooke and let Scott sleep a bit longer.
Now, we have done this lots of times w/ Hunter. But everyone knows Hunter and Brooke are 2 different children. I told Brooke to stay in the basement or her bedroom and she could wake daddy up after her shows or if she needed him. She told me she would not need to wake daddy up. I then told her she could not go outside (a side note- I never felt the need to tell Hunter that), she then asked me 'why?' At this point I was a little concerned.
Hunter and I left about 8:55. I waited till about 10am to call the house and make sure Scott was up. He was and said that Brooke woke him up a little after 9am.
Here is the kicker. When I got home I asked Brooke why she woke daddy up. She said "cuz I needed him." I asked her what she needed him for. She said "To play w/ me." Thats my little princess.

oops
So yesterday Brooke and Scott and I were in the van about 8:15pm. Brooke out of nowhere said, "Its getting dark, time for bed." We both turned and looked at her, shocked she would admit that. Scott said "what did you say?" And Brooke stared at him for several seconds then said "Its getting dark." Then Scott said "What did you say after that?" Brooke stared at him for another several seconds then said "nothing." She had totally caught herself and didn't want to fess up to admitting it was time for bed. Very funny.

First Day of Kindergarten
So today was Hunter's first day of kindergarten. We all did well. We made it to school on time (which is a feat for us) and w/o tears. Even I didn't cry. I started to several times but I knew that if I let even one tear out then I would being sobbing uncontrollably. I'm pretty sure I have made fun of those moms in the past and just couldn't be one of them.
I kept myself busy today (thanks Jill) so the day went pretty fast but I did miss Hunter terribly.
Then it all went to hell at pick up time. I have Hunter walking to the cross walk then we pick him up there. It avoids all the traffic and will be much easier. So today when we saw the line of kids coming up to the corss walk we got out of the van and went right up there. Hunter was first in line. When they got to the cross walk (led by a teacher) they stopped to wait for the crossing guardto get there. Hunter sawusand waved. Then next thing I know, Hunter was walking up the street, away from the crosswalk. I yelled at him and he tried to turn around but there were lots of kids walking that way and he couldn't get turned around. I started to cross the street and then I saw him bawling and trying to get to me. I, of course, started crying and running to him. I got him and we crossed together, well, I was holding him cuz he was still crying.
It really wasn't a big deal but it traumatized him because when my mom asked about his day it was the first thing he told her about. Poor guy.
Tonight before bed he said to me 'I don't want to walk to the crosswalk tomorrow, I want to be a car rider.'

new words
Brooke's new term is 'meany cat.' I get called that quite often. Like tonight when i wouldn't let her run through the parking lot at Price Chopper she looked at me and said "your a meany cat." I'm not really sure where it came from, if I had to guess I'd say Hunter got her saying it knowing she would get in trouble. Where ever she got it though, guess I should be prepared to be a meany cat for a while. Maybe next time she calls me that I will purr likea cat and see what she does.

I am medium!
Today Hunter, Brooke and I were eating at Wendy's before going to Oceans of Fun. Brooke and Hunter were arguing about whether or not Brooke was big enough to ride something. Hunter said "you can't brookie, your to little." Brooke responded w/ "I'm not little, I'm medium!" Several people around us started cracking up.

talks
Hunter is obsessed w/ how babies are born. He asks questions about it all the time. Tonight he asked if God made one mommy and one daddy and then they made a baby in the mommy's tummy. I said yes, then he asked why God didn't make me first. I didn't have an answer. Then he asked if when people turn 1,099 they die. I just said yes for fear of what conversation I would get into about death.
Also I figured out why it is so hard to get Hunter out of my bed. He is a cuddler, he likes to be close to someone at night. And I love that part of his personality, I don't want to squelsh(is that a word?) it.

I need a vacation after vacation
So the kids have been fairly good since everyone returned from vacation. A little wild but fairly good. Hunter did say that he wanted to stay here 3 days then go back to Texas for 5 days. But you know, whatever.
Can anyone guess my biggest problem????? And yes, it its definitely of my own making....BEDTIME. I know that is nothing new for me. I've started feeling guilty because Hunter gets into my bed and I don't let Brooke. Brooke did get in my bed one night before we all left then the night we got home both ended up in our bed in the middle of the night. So last night, Hunter was being a pain and asked if he could sleep on our floor. I for some stupid reason said ok then invited Brooke too cuz I feel bad she gets left out. I was exhausted so I went to bed w/ them and they fell asleep decently (w/ only a moderate amount of yelling). Tonight I let them lay in my room and it has not gone well. I put them down at 820 and they are still up (its 1010). Part of the problem is that on vacation Hunter stayed up till God knows when (thanks Sally) and slept till noon. There are lots of issues. One being, I'm not crazy about sleeping alone so I like them being there when Scott is at work.
Alright, I know, this is all my doing. Please don't comment telling me that. When I go insane enough I will do something about it... I guess.
This was kinda a stupid posting. It was more therapy for me so I don't lock my kids outside in the storm.

Good lord
We are extremely busy getting ready to leave. Tonight we ran errands and grabbed dinner at Panera. When we were done eating Hunter said he needed to poop (of course because he always does when we are out). Brooke said she needed to pee, which was just lovely cuz she had on a dress, leotard, tights and a diaper. The panera bathroom only has 2 stalls and when we got in there I got Hunter in one and turned around to help Brooke. She had already gone in the other and locked me out saying she could do it herself. The stall door then opened and she handed me her dress (I guess I should be thankful she didn't throw it on the floor). She managed to get the rest of her clothes off and go just fine. Since Hunter was still pooping (because it is a 20min process), I took her out to Scott. Then as I was walking back in the bathroom she started saying she had to poop. Back in the bathroom we went. She did the same thing, got in the stall and locked the door before I could get there. I never put her dress back on so she was able to go w/ no problem. The kicker is.... she did all this and still was done before Hunter was finished. The whole freakin place knew what was goin on by the end cuzmy kids are never quiet about anything. It was nice.

Out doing each other
We ate lunch at Red Robin today and of course the kids got balloons. Brooke's popped during a pit stop then Hunter's flew out his open window. He, who was very tired, lost it. He wanted to go back to Red Robin and get another one. I said no and he just started crying loudly because I was ignoring him. Well Brooke, for some reason (probably because she didn't want to be out done by Hunter), started crying because Hunter was being too loud. But she wasn't just crying, she was screaming. So she was just as loud. For the 20min after that I had to listen to Hunter cry then Brooke scream. It got to be like they were taking turns. I could have yelled at them to be quiet but I couldn't stop laughing (maybe I'm delirious from coming off the least amount of sleep in a week I have ever had). Either way, as w/ everything, it became a contest. Except Hunter really was mad and Brooke was just being Brooke.

Thats my day
I'm veering from the norm and writing about my husband cuz this was quite humurous.
We are watching our friends dog right now while they are on vacation. Rosie is actually a pretty good dog except she chases my cat. Which isn't a huge deal except somehow she gets under the bed and tears up the stuff on the bottom of our mattress pad. Rosie knows shes not suppose to because she only chases the cat when we aren't home. The easiest solution is to keep the cat shut in our bedroom when we leave the house.
I was working the other day and this is the text I got from Scott-
"I forgot and left our bedroom door open and of course Rosie did her thing so I yelled at her when I got home so she peed all over the place. Thats my day."
Wasn't so funny to Scott but the text mad me laugh.

packed already
So (that one is for you joanne), when Scott and I go to Sturgis in a couple weeks Hunter is going to Texas to stay w/ my aunt, uncle and cousins. He is SO excited but figuring out how we were gonna get him down there has been an issue. About 2 weeks ago we decided we would let him fly to Oklahoma City and my aunt could get him there (no commentary please on my 6yo flying by himself). He was very excited at flying by himself. The day I got his tickets I told him, after quiet time that afternoon he brought his suitcase downstairs and I could tell it was stuffed full. I asked him about it and he said he was packed for texas. I asked him to show me what he had packed, when he opened the suitcase it was full of his stuffed animals, every possible pocket had one in it. I made him take it back upstairs but let him leave it packed.
Then a couple days ago Hunter was going to go stay w/ poppy (Rick) but Scott must have just told him to pack his suitcase and not told him where he was going. I checked his suitcase and he had about 7 outfits packed. I asked him about it and come to find out he thought he was packing for Texes. Hes just so excited.
So he came home from poppy's on weds and I told him he was going to Texes 2 weeks from today. He got excited and said "then I have to pack, I better go put 7 outfits in my suitcase". I told him he couldn't pack yet because he needed to wear some of his clothes. He told me he could wear his other clothes and I could just wash them. He's such a thinker. Sad thing is I pack early too. When we went to Disney World last summer I was packed over a week before we left.

My sensitive little guy
So Hunter is my sensitive child. He gets his feelings hurt easy and is emotional and cries easy but on the flip side, he loves to cuddle and sit on my lap. So I see it as a fair trade. (Brooke by the way, preys on emotional people, sometimes its a bad combination)
Hunter use to have one of those blankets that are small and square and have some type of animal head on it. He was pretty attached to it. This past Christmas the blanket got lost when we were in oklahoma city. I called the hotel and everything but no one claimed to have it. Hunter was upset for a bit but hasn't brought it up in months... until tonight. We were getting his blankets ready for bed and he asked about the blanket. When I reminded him that we had lost it he burst in to tears. I even teared up I felt so bad for him. Although I did remind him that he had made it the last 6 months just fine w/o it. But like any good mom, I told him that I would take him to the store and if he could find another one he could love just as much we would get it. He said he probably couldn't but he would look.
By the way, he is sleeping in the basement spare bedroom tonight. The other night he slept on the couch in the basement. What is it that fascinates kids about sleeping places other than their beds? Brooke for the last several weeks has slept on her floor. Not sure why, but everynight but 1. The one night she slept back in her bed she said something about ants. My house isn't spotless but I'm pretty sure there aren't ants in her bedroom.

"I told you to be quiet"
So today at Oceans of Fun we were walking and Brooke was chewing on the strap of her lifejacket. I told her to stop and she stopped but said something that didn't quite register w/ me. A couple minutes later she was chewing again and I told her to stop. She looked at me and said "I told you to be quiet!"

TV ads
So tonight while I was cooking dinner hunter was watching tv. An ad come on for some device you use to talk on the phone while driving. Apparantly, there is some way that it goes to your radio and you hear the person you are talking to over the car speakers. I really didn't pay that much attention but hunter got very excited. When it was over, he came running in and quoted the entire comercial to me. He said "mommy, you hear the people through your radio," "mommy, you can talk on the phone w/o using your hands," and the best was "mommy, it works w/ all kinds of phones."
This could be a gene he gets from Scott (sorry honey). Alot of people know that I always joke that if you are selling something come to my house, Scott will buy anything (again, sorry honey, but after the kirby vacuum and the cleaning stuff and several trinkets...) Well Hunter is looking like he could be an easy sell too. Great... I guess maybe its good that he actually pays attention to what they are selling, yea, actually that doesn't really make a difference. But I do know more about the device that lets you talk on your cell phone through your radio than I ever did before.
P.S. I am watching tv w/ Hunter right now. A commercial just come on for a weight loss shake. Hunter said "mommy, can I get the shake that helps you lose weight when I get big?"

Roly Poly
So a couple days ago hunter found a roly poly and decided he wanted to keep it. He came inside and got a cup and lid and had Scott put holes in the lid. He put grass inside and maybe some water and in went the roly poly. He has carried it around some and checked on it quite a bit but never took the lid off (maybe for fear it would escape).
Hunter came downstairs this morning while Scott and I were getting ready. We were pushing it on time so I came down to get him breakfast and he was coming out of the bathroom with the lid off the cup. I asked him what happened and he said he'd thrown it away cuz it smelled bad. I asked him if the roly poly had died and he nodded and burst into tears. He cried so much he could barely talk. I felt so bad for him. I think he just really wants something to take care of. He has that sweet, caring spirit. I'd get him some fish but if he was that upset over a roly poly what will he do when the fish dies. Or God forbid, what is he gonna do when Max dies.
Maybe I can get him a beta fish. Nick had one of those stupid beta fishes once. I of course was the only one who took care of it and got fed up. I tried to just let the fish die and it wouldn't. I stopped cleaning out the bowl and would feed it less and less and the dang fish wouldn't die. I of course will be the one who ends up taking care of Hunter's fish, so I have 2 options. I can get him the beta fish that i know will live through anything, that way if I neglect it, Hunter won't lose a fish. Or, I can get a goldfish, knowing that it may die and make my son sad but also knowing when I am tired of taking care of it I can kill it off. :-)

Fireworks
So tonight we did fireworks. We have always been big fireworks people and Hunter and Brooke are joining right in. We do all kinds and we make loud ones. Our favorite is something called sparkler bombs. They are loud...extremely loud. And Nick has gotten really good w/ artillary shells, the big ones that go up in the air. We even let Hunter start lighting them himself this year.
Brooke loves the light shows but is a bit skiddish of loud noises so this year we bought ear plugs for her and Hunter. Some of the stuff we do is very, very loud so I didn't want to have to be covering her ears all night. Little did I know that the kids ear plugs would be most of the evenings entertainment. It was hilarious. You could tell they could hear us but it would take a second for them to comprehend what we were saying. They'd kinda just have this strange look on their face then this look of comprehension would come across. Then, Hunter especially, talked SO loud. He was yelling everytime he talked. He'd be right in your face and yelling at you.
Of course, Scott was convinced that they (esp Brooke) had no problams hearing. He thought they were just using it as an excuse to not do what we said.
It was fun doing fireworks but it was definetly chaotic. Having to make sure Hunter wasn't lighting something at the same time as someone else and Brooke wanted to be out there so badly lighting them. And the punks. Hunter used a punk while the big people used lighters. The rule was that as soon as he lit something he had to hand the punk off because otherwise he'd burn himself from not paying attention. He would light a firework and run to hand it off to someone but the way he would do it was comical. I can't even describe it.
We did fireworks tonight cuz Nick goes home before the 4th and I am on call. What a fun night it was. Family came up, neighbors came over. I love this time of year!

Screaming
Did I mention that I thought 3 was going to be rough? Tonight her, Hunter and I went to small groups from church and she was fairly well behaved except peeing in her panties. She got mad as we were getting in the van (can't remember why) and stuck her tongue out at me (she has been doing this alot lately, that and spitting at people)so I flicked her in the cheek. Which made her cry but just pissed her off more. So she started screaming, every few seconds she would just scream. This made Hunter cry which just makes her do it more. I turned the music up loud and ignored them both She had stopped by the time we got home since it wasn't getting attention.
So I let her play outside while I did a couple things but she threw a fit when it was time to come inside. I didn't say anything I just picked her up, carried her to her room and started undressing her. This was a battle. She kicked and screamed and spit. After I had wrestled her nightgown on I told her to get in bed. Of course she said no and when I put her in bed she just got out. So I left her room and shut her door. She still has a knob lock on her door so she couldn't get out. What did she do you ask? She screamed and cried and beat on her door for about 15min straight.
It was like popping popcorn. I waited till her screams and kicking had spaced out a certain amount then I went up there. You know what? She crawled into my lap, I put her bed, kissed her and I haven't heard another word from her. :-)

poop
Yes I am going to write about poop. Not the actual poop itself but the process of doing it. (Hunter may kill me for this one day)
When Brooke needs to poop and wants to go on the toilet (and thats a whole other blog), she just gets up there and goes. Done in just a couple minutes.
But Hunter is a little different process. First, he always seems to have to do it when we are eating out (Scott is nodding right now). Second, he takes FOREVER. No kidding, yesterday me, brooke and hunter spent 15min in a taco bell bathroom. We were eating at taco bell, hunter had to go and couldn't wait till we got home. I couldn't leave brooke so we all took a field trip to the bathroom. First brooke and I went into the stall w/ him but hunter was too distracted so brooke and I just stood outside the stall. He still took forever. Plus he always sits there for about 5min after he is done, saying hes not done yet.
On vacation last week we were at a mini golf place and in the middle of the game hunter had to go. I went to the bathroom too and while we were both in our stalls hunter started a whole conversation about poop (to be honest I dont even remember what it was about). Then I walked out of mine and a lady was standing there. Yep, she had apparantly heard the whole converstion. I just kinda smiled at her and didn't really say anything. It was nice.

Its hot in here
So yesterday afternoon Scott and I were in Hunter's room commenting about how hot it seemed. Hunter said "Its cuz Brooke turned the heat on. I saw her." Sure enough Scott checked the thermostat and some how Brooke had turned the heater on. Probably not really that surprising but Hunter knew right away what was making the house hot. What will I do w/ my daughter?????

pictures

So today my little girl is 3. I truly can't believe it was 3 years ago that she came into this world.
Today we went for pictures. Knowing her well, I gave her input on what she would wear so that I knew(thought) she would actually wear it. But I knew we were in trouble when the nice photographer asked her if she would stand on the screen and she simply said "no." And that is about how the rest of the session went. She didn't do anything we asked, it was hard to get her to smile, then she didn't want to wear one of the dresses we had brought. Dont be fooled, it wasn't cause she was scared or shy, it was simply because she doesn't like being told what to do. Yep, the pictures didn't really turn out that great but they are a symbol of where we are in her life right now.
This picture kinda shows her attitude while we were there.

Bedtime
I HATE bedtimes. My kids are not good at going to bed. Actually Brooke isn't too bad but getting Hunter to bed is a pain. Some nights he gets in bed and I don't hear from him again and other nights he gets out of bed several times.
Last night he got out of bed once or twice but it wasn't actually too bad. Then I went upstairs when he should have been asleep and his bedroom light was on. His excuse? He forgot to turn it off. Yep, it just slipped his mind. So then I went up later and he was asleep. (Oh yea, I forgot to mention. One of the times he got out of bed he wanted a do-rag tied around his head) I got up in his bed to cover him up and he had the do-rag on and camo sweat bands around his wrists. Then he had about half his room in his bed w/ him. Including, bent up wire hangers that he would have had to go to my closet to get. Tonight when I took them away he told me he was pretending they were tube slides.
I get so frustrated w/ him at bed time but these memories of finding him asleep w/ strange things on or weird things in his bed... well, at the least it will always make me laugh.
by the way, that picture is really him asleep.

My life as a sitcom
So this is why my life could be a sitcom:
After church this evening I put the kids in the van. Brooke threw Hunter's book on the floor so I handed it to him, so she tried to grab it and kept getting him so of course he whined. I told her to stop touching him which made her do it more. So I told Hunter we would move his seat to the back. I got out to go move his carseat for him, Brooke was by that point trying to undo hers and saying she wanted to move back too. When I was done w/ Hunter I went around and opened Brooke's door to settle her in and she was gone, not in her seat at all. The little booger had some how unlatched her buckles and was sitting in the seat next to Hunter. I had to fight laughing cuz I'm sure my face was hilarious when I opened the door and she wasn't there (it took me a second to find her cuz I couldn't see her over the seat). So I grabbed her and she struggled and the whole time Hunter was saying "Just spank her mom, she needs spanked mom."
Then we got on the highway and Brooke told me we were going the wrong way. I said no we aren't and she said yes we are and I said no we aren't. All the sudden Hunter goes "just tell her ok mom."
Oh and by the way, Hunter made a prayer book at church tonight w/ all the people in it to pray for. He put everyone in our family in it except Brooke. Guess hes given up on her.

My Daughter, The Runaway
So today Scott needed to run to Lowe's and Nick was going w/ him, then Hunter decided to go. Brooke then, of course, wanted to go to but I thought Hunter needed some boy time plus both little kids would have made it hard for Scott to get what he needed. So I told Brooke she had to stay.
After they left Brooke threw a big fit. I had to carry her in the house screaming. I was trying to clean the kitchen so I set her down and planned on ignoring her. The next thing I knew she had the garage door open and was making a run for it. I took off after her, she made it to the neighbors driveway. I brought her back, told her to knock it off and went back to cleaning. Well, she took off again. I caught her at about the same place. So when we came back in the house I was looking for a way to lock her in. I was trying to get the knob lock off the pantry door when I heard the front door close. The little booger had gone out the front door since I was guarding the door to the garage.
What makes this all the funnier is that just the other day Scott made a comment that Brooke will run away alot. He just had no idea it would start so young. :)

Animals....
I do not consider myself a huge animal lover.
My friend Jane(hi Jane!) and her son once found a dying squirrel, nursed it back to health and took it to a wildlife reserve thing. Now I'm not sure I would ever go that far. I like animals though, I only kill the ants in my house, I try not to run over things in the road, I tolerate my dog and I do like my cat.
So, I'm not sure where my kids have learned to kill every undomesticated animal w/in their reach(I'm exaggerating so don't freak out). If there is anything in the house, it doesn't have a chance- flies, ants, spiders, doesn't matter. They even make a game of stomping on any insect they can reach outside. Tonight I swerved to miss a turtle crossing the road and Hunter asked why I didn't just run over it. I was a little taken aback. I mean, as much as I really don't care for animals, running over a poor turtle seems mean.
Guess we are going to be taking some trips to the zoo!!!
Don't anyone have a heart attack, Hunter said that daddy kills deer and that is why he assumed it was ok to kill animals. We are gonna have the "whats hunting and whats not" talk soon. We fish too, so hes not mean spirited, just a little confused. And we all know that a turtle crossing the road is worth 5 points.

What in the World do I say.....

Ok. So while Hunter is growing up way too fast, I still look at him and see a little boy. But he is all the sudden asking questions that seem way to old for him and I am certainly not prepared to answer.
We will start about 2 weeks ago. He asked me out of the blue if I bought him from the doctor. I said no that he grew in my tummy. Then he asked if the doctor put him in my tummy. I said no that mommys and daddys make babies together. He of course then asked how, I really didn't know what to say. And I am very seldom left speechless. I honestly don't remember how I answered, I'm pretty sure I just changed the subject. Not quite ready to broach that subject yet.
So then yesterday we were driving and Hunter asked when dogs and cats die. I just said that dogs live about 12-15 years and cats a little bit longer. Then Hunter asked if when Jasper dies we could get a cat that would play w/ him. For those of you that don't know, my cat hates everyone but Scott and I. I think Hunter has touched her twice and Brooke never has. Little does Hunter know, when these pets are gone we will be a pet free home.
And then tonight, Hunter asked why we never get to see angels. I said that maybe we do that maybe when angels are on earth they look just like us. He then asked how Jesus can be everyone's hearts and in heaven. I answered the best I could although Hunter was convinced that even on earth angels will have wings and halos. There should be a book that tells parents how to answer these childhood wonders.
Oh, but then he went back to being 5 and yelled at mean saying I was mean. Some moms say it hurts their feelings when their kids say that... it kinda did but I sent him to time out and felt a whole lot better.

Home Videos
I don't have alot of time to write so this will be a quick story.
This morning we hooked the video camera up to the tv so Scott could watch Hunter's prek graduation from last night. So of course the kids wanted to watch more videos of themselves. So I put in several tapes so they could watch themselves on tv. Well, brooke was hilarious. First she laid on the floor and watched the videos on the camera screen instead of the television, then she would yell at the people on the screen. One time I heard her saying "mom" so I said "what Brookie?" Her answer was "not you- this mommy" pointing to the camera. She was even yelling "Gigi..Gigi..Gigi" when my mom was on the screen. Then when her first birthday party was played and she saw herself crying when it was time to eat the cake, she went hysterical crying. Not really sure why but when I asked if it was cuz the baby was crying she said yes. I really should have gotten a picture of her laying 2ft from the tv watching videos on the camera.

3 could be a very bad year....
So Hunter has been a fairly easy child. He has certainly had his moments and can be pretty whiny but most of the time life w/ him has been smooth.
Brooke, well Brooke, is another story. She is going to test Scott and I to our very limits. I love her dearly and believe if she makes it to adulthood she will be something amazing. She has the best personality and most of the time she is the happiest child I have ever seen.
But then we have mornings like today....
To make a long story short. It took us 10min to make a 3min walk to her classroom and she was screaming and being held up by one arm the whole way (no exageration). And it was all because I wouldn't carry her to class, which I never do. It was great. All the other moms looking at me, all of them saying they've been there.
The punch line to this story is that last week, we had this exact same scenerio getting to school. Only it was because she didn't get to open the garage door when we left the house. Oh and all the same moms were looking at me w/ all the same looks.
With Hunter threats usually work. I never actually get to 3 when I count. With Brooke I get to 3 EVERY time. In fact, she will just watch me count, probably counting w/ me in her head. Sometimes she waits till I say 3 then does what I ask, sometimes she lets me get to 3 and still doesn't do it. Parents have a tendency to make outlandish threats knowing they won't have to follow through because the threat alone will cause compliance. With Brooke before I tell her what will happen when I get to 3 I have to really think about it and make sure it is something I can follow through w/....everytime. And even then, she usually doesn't care.
Earlier I said if she makes it to adulthood, but the scary thing is that the chances are higher of Scott and I not making it.
Yes, 3 could be a rough year in deed.
Little Brookie- I love you w/ all my heart.

Bouncy Balls
Bouncy Balls. I wonder if the guy who invented them is living a life of luxury? If hes not its certainly not cuz of my family. No kidding, we probably have close to 100 in our house. My kids LOVE them! I'm not so crazy about them. I step on them or sit on them quite often. Plus they can be found under the couch cushions, under the stove, behind the tv. Brooke took several to bed w/ her tonight. No telling where they will have ended up by morning. Costing a quarter each sounds cheap until you leave Cicis Pizza w/ 10 of them (everytime). Maybe that is what santa will fill their stockings w/ next christmas. They'd probably get more play time than the things that filled their stockings last year.
I am not very strict at bedtime about what my kids take to bed w/ them. Truly by that point in the day I'm good w/ whatever as long as they stay in bed. Hunter likes to take cars and planes to bed most of the time. Recently he has been taking handfuls of straws w/ him (thanks Nikki!). Brooke loads her bed up. Tonight I believe she has the bouncy balls, dolls, probably some books. She wanted her doll swing in her bed but I drew the line at that, although I have allowed it before. This was a mild night for both. Once I found an empty box of kleenex in Hunter's bed (no he did not have a cold). When Brooke was still in her crib, but able to get out, I found an unopen package of diapers that she was using as a pillow.
Hmmm..... Do everyones kids do strange things, like take diapers to bed and sleep in pillowcases, or is it just mine? You know what, don't answer that.

YUCK!
So I have been up for 31 hours now so this may truly not make any sense.
The good news...I know why Brooke has had a fever of over 102 for 3 days.
The bad news....she has hand, foot, mouth disease. YUCK! I actually think Hunter has a mild case too.
Who knows where they got it. Even worse, who knows how many kids they've spread it to. I bet tracy is glad she didn't bring Danielle over last night. However, today neither has a fever so they shouldn't be contagious.
There is nothing overly exciting going on in my house today. Truth be told, there could be and I wouldn't notice. After working all night and not getting home till 1230, I am not really paying attention.
My kids are playing good together today which is a relief. Store is their new game. They buy things over and over again from each other. Today Hunter set up his store and when Brooke would pick something out he would say "Oh, thats not suppose to be out, let me take the sticker off it." Then he would hide it in a box. Not really sure what store he has been going to lately.
It makes me think about when Zach and I were little. At Christmas time we would wrap toys up in blankets for each other to open. Yes, blankets, we were a little odd. At least one of us outgrew it....
I have to say, I am very proud of Brooke. Hand, foot, mouth is suppose to be very painful in the mouth. She went a day w/o eating but never once complained about anything hurting. Shes my trooper.
Ok, see, I am so tired I can't even write anything exciting or interesting. So I'm outta here for now....

Here I go
So I've decided to start blogging. Ok, honestly, I'm copying off Jill. She started a blog and I thought it sounded like fun. My life is crazy and could often be a sitcom, so why not share it w/ the world, or the 4-5 friends who will actually read it. And maybe my life couldn't be a sitcom but we could easily fill an hour of America's Funniest Videos. For instance, the other night Scott got home about 5am from work and I could tell he was looking for something. So, being the good wife that I am I asked him what he was doing. Apparently, he was looking for his pillow. I turned a light on and we started searching. Finally, Scott looked in Hunter's room and there it was on his floor.... w/o the pillowcase. So he found a spare and we went to sleep. In the morning I went into Hunter's room to wake him and he was asleep.... in the pillowcase. I have no idea what on earth possessed him to do that. And if you know Hunter at all, thats not really out of his character. Oh and did I mention, after he crawled out of the pillowcase he pulled out about 5 stuffed animals that he at pushed to the bottom.
So see, even if you aren't interested in my life. My little family of 5 will keep you laughing, more often at us than w/ us but that's ok.
Maybe I will write everyday, maybe not. We are crazy busy, especially during soccer season so we will just see how it goes. If I get any of this figured out and people can leave little messages, please don't write about how I over schedule my children. I know that I do and I am sure it will catch up w/ me someday but right now I don't have the heart to make my children choose what is most important. Plus, a very small secret part of me LOVES living a crazy life. I love having lots of activities and places to be. As long as my kids get free time, which they do, I am happy.
I really should go to bed but I am gonna read a bit more of Twilight before I head to sleep.
